...to get a line of credit these days?

I want to buy a new ATV. I've been at the same job for 20 years, have a 719 Fico score, less than 23% debt load, am putting 50% down on a 24 month payment structure and the douche bag at Yamaha is giving me a rough time.:mad3:

I could buy 3 of these machines with what Visa gives me for a line of credit for fawks sake but at those interest rates, I will drive my old machine for another year.

WTF???

Thanks for letting me vent.

Save and pay cash. HSBC is all sorts of fucked up to deal with.

If you can put half down..... i would think you could get a used one for that amount straight up cash.

At least you exist :(.

I've never had anything reported to any credit bureaus and I have 3 credit cards (2 retail store cards and 1 Credit Union Visa).

Why not do that anyways?

Because my shoulders are destroyed from 40 plus years of playing hockey(yes, I'm old), this new machine has EPS(power steering) and my old one doesn't.

But the main reason is...I want one.

Buyers market right now, especially for stuff like that. Buy a gently used one or wait a year and try to find a previous model year still sitting on the lot. After making the mistake of buying a new yamaha atv on credit, I wish I would have just waited a year and paid cash.

I've had numerous lowballs on my bike. Most claimed thats all the bank would give them. It may be partially true. But i think people are just cheap.

:laughing::laughing:

I was told I couldn't buy one about 6 years ago cause I didn't have credit. They told me if I had bad credit they'd be more apt to sell me one.

I don't buy shit new anymore. It's fucking dumb to sell to someone with bad credit than none :shaking:

I wanted a small personal loan to pay for something I had the cash for. I fucked up my credit real bad about 6 years ago, and I'm still rebuilding. Figured I would pay their interest, still have my cash liquid and have another good account on my credit.

My bank denied the loan, but they were gracious enough to offer a secured loan, where they use my cash as collateral, locking it in an account then giving me a loan off my cash. gee, thanks. You'll let me pay interest on my cash?? awesome!

If you have to make payments, you can't afford it. It's not like it's a car or a house.

Credit score isn't about how responsible you are, it's about how profitable you are. If you want to prove it, you've got to play the stupid little games.

I could pay cash, but why? For the interest rates on factory financing it makes more sense to use thier money and stay liquid. I just don't like the games and the waiting.

You're doing it wrong. You have been responsible with your money and at the same job too long. Quit your job and milk the tax payers for a couple years and people will be falling over themselves to give you stuff.

Credit? Act of God.

I have fantastic credit, they still busted down my limits. When I called to ask why, they said "For your protection".

I cancelled 3 of my 4 cards and just keep one for emergency whaaaaaambulance attention.

I just turned 25, and my credit score is 783 (As of Saturday), and just offered oodles of credit from the bank/credit cards.

Hands up if you think I can get a credit card from Furtureshop?
Not fucking likely :shaking:

Wow. I realize credit is tighter nowadays but that's just nuts. I thought they extended credit to anyone with a heartbeat and a job.

Take out a HELOC on that purdy new house of yours!

Wanted to buy a motorhome. 34k older one. The bank told me they would give me the loan if I borrowed 60k or more. Or, they would loan me the money at 12%. Okay, my credit card is 8% with miles.

I up and payed cash. I didn't want to, but I wanted that motorhome really bad. I was like a kid at toys-r-us. Sometimes you just gotta be dumb.

x2..... literally. An 05' trx450 and an 04' yz250f. That was in 05' and they wanted me to buy more shit. Pit bikes, riding gear, another quad, lol. Ill finally be clear in september, its funny how "only 150 bucks a month" sounds so easy....... 5 years later Im a little smarter now lol....

Personally, If i ever want another quad, i will shop around for a used one, around 1 year old... Or an old clapped out banshee, and rebuild it.... Fuck that, i dont want another quad.
