Man that sucked. I just signed away my baby. I got a fair price, but its kinda tough ask for a dollar value that reflects the all the blood, sweat, and energy that I put into it. My love/hate relationship ends with the sound of hundred dollar bills that are already allocated to bills and a faltering business. I was kind of hoping that it would get picked up by someone here or one of the other H1 wheelers I know and actually get used for what it was built. Instead it went to a guy that's just always wanted one to use as a *gasp* street queen. He likes it just the way it is, complete with body armor, recovery gear, and authentic rock rash and brush rake, each inch of it from a place he'll never see and with a story he'll never understand. Maybe he won't come back to pick it up.

It has been fun.

x2. My DD is becoming too much of a rig now, a CC Dmax does not need to be going the places I go.

Ahhh. The benefits of having a rig that's nearly worthless. And one that's incomplete.

That's why i got rid of all the nice stuff and got a junker.

Never any pressure to get rid of it during hard times, since i would probably have to pay someone to take it. If all the gas ran out of it insurance would total it out. :flipoff2:

Yep, had to sell my rig back in '02.

CJ-7 with Chevy 350/TH350/twin sticked D300 and D44s front and rear with Detroits. SOA with 2" springs and 36's with a YJ tub. Back in those days, that was a pretty "extreme" rig. It sucked, but at least it went to a guy who was going to use it right and it was my fault I had to sell it. I rolled my DD Toyota 4x4 p/u and needed something that could double as a DD. I'm sure it was raising hell at Tellico until the gates were locked.

But, I used the money to buy a totaled '97 TJ and rebuilt it. I drove it stock with a 2" lift on 31s until I graduated college and bought a Tahoe. At that point, I took a sawzall to the fenders to fit 33x13.50 LTBs. It's been in that state ever since (with the exception of swapping in some stock Rubicon springs to replace my worn out OEMs, that netted me another 1.5") and honestly, I love it. I don't think I'll ever build another hardcore rig. They're just not as fun. I can go to that 5 or 6 (out of 10) rated trail and have a fawking blast and be challenged where as in my old rig I had to seek out the extreme trails to have any fun. That's the trade off. You build a rig for the gnarliest of trails and everything else is like a cruise down the highway. No thanks. I'm over that. I'd rather be able to have fun in multiple places within an hour or two of home than have to seek out shit that's extreme enough to get a challenge. Once I grenade the D30/D35 (shocked that hasn't happened yet, but the 4 banger and common sense help a lot) I'll probably toss some Rubi D44s under it and call it done. Locked f&r on 33s with some decent driving and you can go a lot of places and have a lot of fun while you're doing it.

Actually, it was my dads. He as a bad left knee and can't operate a clutch, so the Tip-tronic was his only option.
