I'm taking a rig to the Sema show and wanted to do some RockCrawling after. Does anyone know of some good spots we can play at/near Vegas? (hour drive or less)? Thanks tons.

Logandale!
It is a very cool place to wheel.
The terrain is Red Rock sand stone, its kinda like a mini Moab.
Just head east on I15, untill you get to the Logandale exit, go south and look for the signs to turn right towards the off road area. If you can find some guys who know the area, there are some good rock crawls such as, "Rock Bottom", and the area around "Bronco Falls".
Its definitely worth the trip out there. Keep an eye out for old indian hyroglyphics, they are everywhere.

I have a fun trail to wheel that I built many years ago. I'm not sure if anyone has run it and last time (2 years ago) we went to run it, It was still in good condition but has a hidden enough entrance that it should still be somewhat untouched. It takes about 4 hours and is about 20 minutes by highway, then 20 minutes by fire-road to access. We'll be at SEMA and might be able to go do something with you if you're interested.
If you need to know, the trail is a 4+ for trail rig types...for comp buggies, eveything I found iwhile living 5 years in Vegas (including Logandale) is easy. Though I have to say that Logandale is scenic.

I have never seen anything around Vegas that could not be tackled by a rig with 33's and a locker.

But I would be up for some playtime as well :)

Keep me in the loop..

I hope the people who keep posting about this event are NOT the peope that run the event, since you are too dumb to take a hint. here it is again in plain English.

You are not allowed to post events on the board unless they are for fun (read free), for charity, or you have a yellow star.

You meet exactly ZERO of these qualifications. You company's posts have been moved/deleted, and people from you company have been asked not to advertise and have been told about the optional yellow star advertising program.

Pay up or shut up.

We'll have our rigs on display at SEMA for our team partners (ProComp and RedBull).
The trail is a mountain crossing heading west between Jean and Stateline. It took me 6 months of hard work to build the trail and we used it for the Southern Nevada LandCruiser's annual Glitter Gulch Gambol in 98. Jon Bundrant was on the trail with us as well as a few other great drivers and they all said it was the best trail they'd ever been on near Vegas. Plenty of breakage and a serious roll. Times have changed since then and in my Unlimited truck, this trail would be easy (just about everything is) but the CJ would still be a kick in the pants. Also, the view at the top of the crossing is hard to match. many people think they have been on this trail before as it starts on the same trail that ends with the mule ramp on the west end of the sand wash. It does use the same entrance but has a side jaunt that is fun plus a serious deviation 3/4 of the way in that actually takes you and drops you into the Sandy Valley. When you get there, you can either turn left and head around the mountain to Stateline, or double back and do the trail in the other direction. If you double back, the shale climb will tun into a winch fest for most rigs. I've made it 2 out of 4 times and I've only seen 1 other rig make it. I guess it could be different now as it has been a long time...heck, the whole trail could be easy or completely impassable...guess we'll have to find out!

the group I wheel with down here started because we are into 4+ trails and felt the same way now there are plenty of hard core trails that we have made to make it fun for even buggies. and most of them are within 15 minutes from anywhere in town.
