: Help With My Pathy Axles PLEASE!!!
BoostedPathy 08-19-2010, 10:51 PM Ok guys here's the scoop, I have a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder with a VG30E V6.
I need help figuring out a stronger axle setup because I'm going to be pushing 15lbs of boost through her real soon. I was told that I needed to beef up my axles in order to run that kind of boost. I have regular off road tires, they are 32in. I need to find some stronger axles that will handle about 400hp or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
boardbysled 08-20-2010, 01:00 AM Pretty much, you have to SAS it to get anything beefier in the front. The rear may hold up to what you want to do, but if ya want a little more beef, you could swap in a newer rear end out of a 2001-2004 frontier/xterra as they have a little more beef. You also may go to ruggedrocksoffroad.com as I believe he was trying to get some chromo rear axles built. What will you be doing with this rig?
How are you going about boosting this motor? I'm very interested to see exactly what you are going to do. I have been him-hawing about swapping in a VG30ET or possibly a VG33ER.
BoostedPathy 08-20-2010, 02:32 AM Thanks for the information.
Well you can check out my build on this forum...

veilside180sx 08-25-2010, 10:25 AM I'd worry about fixing things...after they break. Why reinvent the wheel, if it's unnecessary.
There are very few turbo WD's running around.
I'm always debating on whether it's worth the time, or just buying a rig with more power.
Boostedpathy...you have a lot of money in that parts list that should be saved or spent else where.

Good points.
Why do you want a 400hp IFS 4x4??? Why no SAS the thing and put it on a 100 shot of nitrous? I'll have a bottle on my VG33e pretty soon, just a 75 shot though.:flipoff2:
If you want power, buy another rig or swap a different motor into the Pathy. If you want a race car, the Pathfiner ain't it. Seems like a waste of $$$ IMO. Good luck though.
Why not add some ground effects and a spoiler? Maybe some neon undercarriage lighting that dances to your 100,000 watt stereo system?
Karpiel 09-06-2010, 01:12 PM Good points.

IslandPath 09-07-2010, 07:02 PM fix what breaks when it breaks, with only 32" tires if you arnt running on sticky rocks your tires should just break loose when you get on the gas.
If you do break its probably time for a ford 9"........or one ton axles (but im the only one dumb enough to do that around here :D)

I'm on one tons :flipoff2:
If he wants to boost the pathy, I say go for it. The same reason we kept our nissans to begin with. If we wanted something easy to work with we'd buy jeeps or yotas.

words to live by, right now you have an axle bigger and stronger than most nines. check out http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7508 i know its not most guys style, or mine, but these guys can build, and check it out, a chevy small block and a nissan axle.:p
IslandPath 09-14-2010, 08:39 PM The Nissan rear ends are strong, but I must have been a little hard on mine, because I sold it to a guy who put it in his jeep, and then proceded to grenade the ring gear about an hour later.
Guess I sold it at the right time, that said it was tight when I sold it, he must have been unlucky.
