Just picked up a 47 cj2a that needs to be put back together, everything is in box's in pieces except the frame and tub.

-I have two instrament clusters one big speedo (12volt) and a multi cluster (24volt). Can I run the 24 volt in a 12 volt system using some sort of transformer?

-I've also got a cj7 power steering column but I would like to use the facory steering column. Can I do this and still use the power steering? I would think I can but am I missing something, seems to easy.

-How many leaves to a spring pack did they come with stock. Mine has 9 per pack, that seems high to me and pretty stiff.

-Shift pattern instructions for the twin shifters (t18) ?

-I've got a set of full size hard doors that I will never use. Are they worth keeping?

-It has a Buick 231 to a t90. The previos owner was on his fourth clutch fork try without any luck.(he lost the one he had). I've just put on a Advance Adaptors one and no luck. It hits the master cylander. And when trying to compress the p. plate it won't budge. Any suggestions before I blow another $200 on another one.

-Web sites?

Thanks in advance,

Nazz (newbie and first post)

My dad's 46 CJ-2A has 9 leaves per pack and yes they are stiff. They were rated as 1/4 ton vehicles but they ride like 2 tons.

Good Luck

Above answers are correct.

Does'nt matter what column you use.

AA sells a kit with swinging pedals 7 a master mounted up on the firewall. Half the master is for the brakes & the other is for the hydraulic clutch. This is what the 2 Willys I am familiar with use.

fwiw swapping in wilwood pedals and master cylinders was cheaper than swapping in late model CJ stuff, especially th hydraulic clutch. And it's easier.

the hydraulic clutch looks like a good option but there must be a fork that will work, It had one before and it would be a bolt on. Does AA or wilwood have a web site so I can have a look?

I thought the column wouldn't matter but you know when things look to easy.....

With the model 18 looking at Jeepdude_Jay's shift pattern, can I also run in 2 low?

Thanks for your help,

Nazz

You can run in 2 low, you need to remove a detent pin from the frount housing first though.

Thanks Mike,

The detent pin, is this the interlock between the shift rods in the front cap?
