The story:
A while ago I decided to lift my truck using the Calmini UCA's and blocks for the rear. While doing this lift I noticed that I noticed a vibration coming from the rear. Pulled the rear Driveshaft off and replaced the U-Joints and carrier bearing. While I had it off my truck needed to get out of my grandfathers shop so he used 4-low to move it. When he moved it he managed to bend the Idler Arm. He then told me I needed a new Centerlink because of the bend that he did. So after about $550-600 dollars in parts, I now have a brand new beefed up Centerlink, AC Steering Enhancement Package and the Idler Arm is at my grandfathers shop. Now when me and my Dad were changing the oil on my truck today, he noticed that one of the Tie Rods was bent more than the other. I managed to get a couple pics from my phone... Sorry if the quality isn't the best.

Can somebody tell me if these are good or bad so that I can replace them. Thanks for everything and sorry for the long write up!:smokin:

Looks like they are begining to bend to me. Welcome to the world of Nissan IFS.:D Do you have an upgraded drag link? When I upgraded to the Hoohaa centerlink, I was able to quit bending tie-rods.

Before SAS'n, I pondered building tie-rods using hiem joints, DOM tubing, and weld in bungs.

For the Idler arm, I remember seeing where somebody used a steering box as the idler arm

FYI, autozone carrys the tie rods, and offer a lifetime warrenty.

Heim joint tie-rods. Pricey, but they last almost forever.

Considering the severe angle, it's no wonder they are bending:homer:

Should I replace the entire tie rod or just the ends? The ends only seem like they are bending.

The ends. They are pretty affordable. That is unless you want to upgrade. My tie rod ends were bending because the drag link was so worn out the ends of the tie rods were hitting the frame. Just something to check out...

I think I'm having the exact same problem... Whenever I turn (mainly to the right) I hear loud popping sounds that scare's the living crap out of me.

I don't think I'm going to upgrade the tie rods just because I'm getting a Hoohaa Cl and a brace for the drag link.

Thanks again for looking after me!:grinpimp: Hopefully this should solve my problems!:smokin:

Where ya from in the seatle area? I'm in the North sound...

Come over an check out Nissanwheelers.com. Thats where a bunch of Nissan guys from the NW hang out. They do pretty much monthly runs on mostly mild to moderate trails.

Yea! I love that site. I'm a registered user... I ask a lot of questions haha.

I'm in Burien. I borderline west Seattle and it's a 10 minute drive to get into the big city.

Where are some of the trails at? It sounds like fun.. I've never been rock crawling before haha!
