: Where can I buy a beefy tie rod?
t wrecks 10-28-2002, 06:50 PM I ordered one from RockStomper almost 2 months ago and so far UPS has lost it and the are no more tie rod ends that fit my application (Toyota truck) in the state of Colorado:rolleyes: .
I made it half way through Fordyce before pretzeling the stock one then finished the trail using the HighLift jack handle as a sleeve.
Who can sell me a beefy tie rod?
TNToy 10-28-2002, 07:13 PM Did you work it out with scott & get your money back?
Marlincrawler does them too, marlinks. I assume you're not interested in the $$$ for highsteer or else I'd recommend you to kongs4x4.com - had no trouble installing mine and it's as beefy as anything I've seen...
I would stick with Scott. Sounds like the UPS driver has new tie rods on his truck, no foult of RockStomper.
if you want local to you, email Pat on this BB. He just made my tie-rod and draglink they thay are stout!
He's in Oraville so you can probably hook up with him :D
StinkBug 10-28-2002, 09:10 PM i'd work it out with Scott, hes a good guy, and if the tards at UPS decided to lose your shit its not his fault. I'm running scotts links and they are BEEFY and well worth the money. It sucks that its takin so long, but blame it on ups not rockstomper. Shipping problems can happen with any company.

Roc Dog 10-28-2002, 09:36 PM Kongs are a good choice. I just got a set and can not see how I will never have to replace the set up. They are Beefy!!!!
t wrecks 10-28-2002, 09:55 PM I still have the tie rod on order from RockStomper. He said he will make me another one but he cant find any fj80 ends in town. Toyota has next day service so I dont understand this:confused: .
Scott has been nice over the phone but its been quite awhile and I need a tie rod.
Does kongs have a web site?
And yes, not enough beans in the bank for hi-steer.

krcruiser 10-29-2002, 08:07 AM Wait for Scott, he sent me somes heims it took 2 weeks to get from colorado to California. It went all over the USA before Usually Pretty Slow got it right
StudNuts 10-29-2002, 10:26 AM Pick up the latest JP mag, there is a tech article on steering upgrades and build it your self tie rod.
Kilby 10-29-2002, 10:50 AM I looked into building one myself w/ 1.25" DOM & Dodge truck ends. With the prices for parts I was quoted, I wasn't going to save any money building it.
I ended up ordering one from a (relatively) local place w/ the same specs I was gonna build.
t wrecks 10-29-2002, 05:53 PM I called Scott today and he said that the fj80 ends have been on back order for over a month and he didnt know when they would arive. He told me to try Marlin. I really wanted one of the RockStomper sleeved tie rods but when Scott tells me to try someone else I think its time to move on.
I will look into the places that you people have led me to in this thread. Thanks for your help.
