Are we not doing this any more?

I had a good time at Fordyce, with how slow the trail was it made it very easy to get around and no lines like the Con. The trail is deff hard and if I had to pick between it and the Con I would say Fordyce is hands down harded. Any way it was a good time I hit winch hill 3 every way I could think even a new line that looked to be untried :flipoff2:

Finished up the boat sides(minus paint) and remounted everything that was bolted to the inner fenders. Still need to trim the fenders.

The hood is kind of growing on me, I think I'll leave it as is. :D

Took the famdamly to Silverwood theme park in Idaho. Friday through tuesday. What a trip! Rode a roller coaster thats probably the scariest thing I have ever ridden, and I'm hard to scare on those sorts of things. Kids had tons of fun in the water park.

The 3 year old is my ride buddy:grinpimp: We hit every kid ride a dozen times. By the end she was yelling at the ride operator to make it go faster and higher. She's gonna be my little dare devil. Pretty sure she ate a solid half pound of chocolate ice cream too:laughing: All in all, a great time!

You rode the green and blue one didn't you??? that one had me going when it backed up and just sat there!

Took the family up the hill camping from thursday to monday. played drunken hide and seek with the kids (not drunk) almost broke my hand running from them and tripping over downed trees. wished we had the scout on that trip.

Bought a popup camper last week, cleaned it/repaired/modded it all day Friday and Saturday - took it out camping on Sunday with the fam...

Worked well. Made a list a mile long of things to add to it, and fix for the future.

I've been working on the new pond and waterfall in the back yard. I love moving rocks...:shaking:

I did have my oldest daughter get engaged a couple of weeks ago, and the second daughter's boyfriend, who was helping me with rocks says "So, what do you think about me marrying your daughter?"

The third and last daughter also got some type of ring this weekend.

I'm sure between two weddings in the back yard next summer, I'll be ready to miss yet another rubicon run:mad3:

Went to the Cantina Sunday for tacos, and meet up with Andy (Scout-in-out)
Worked on my junk getting ready for this coming weekend. Added a rear sway bar for better road manners. Might have to add one to the front now:rolleyes: Got a few minutes of road time and it handles a lot better, but it's still a slinky compared to my car. I will get a better idea once its all loaded up. At least this fixes the issue casued by putting the spare tire on the rear bumper.

All I can say is it sucks when you have to depend on someone else to help get your rig done. In the meantime I've been taking on other projects, like a motorcycle and a Fiero. I think the Fiero needs a new motor, what should I put in it?

Been working on the 392 getting it resealed, for the past week. Decided to give it a fresh paint job while I have it out. Trying to get myself motivated to stab it back in before the weekend (drill weekend.....sucks!). Not looking forward to wrestling the damn T-19. Anybody have any ideas or shortcuts on getting the tranny mated with the engine? Every time I've done this, I've battled with it for a couple of hours.:shaking:

I know what you mean, getting that pilot bearing and the clutch to match can be a bitch. I got one of these and that made all the difference. You can tilt it front to back and side to side, plus the obvious of up and down. Plus it lifts super high!

Now that is cheeting....:D If you have the tunnel off and have a cage, then just rig off that with a com-along.

Make 2 dowel pins (cut head off shouldered bolt~ 3-4" long) screw one on to each side of the block to help align the transmission. 2 ratchet straps hanging across the frame rails. Use jack and ratchet straps to raise transmission. The ratchet straps cradle the transmission like a hammock and keep the transmission from falling off the jack and crushing your chest. Once the transmission is raised to the approximate height (supported by ratchet straps, remove jack), the dowel pins will help align the transmission as you push/wiggle the transmission to mate up with the clutch splines and pilot bushing. Once it's in, thread in a few other bolts to hold it and remove the "dowel pins" and replace with bolts. Snug everything up good'n'tight and it's in.

Works like a champ.
Much safer, easier, and faster than trying to bench press it and/or balance on a transmission jack. The straps give you more freedom to maneuver the transmission.

or balance on a transmission jack.

Forgot to mention those stupid chains designed to hold the transmission don't work for chit. I bolted the trans to the jack as its a pain to get almost there and then wiggle it only to have the jack decide it wants move out from under the transmission.
I like the ratchet strap dowel pin idea too.

Yeah, I had an epiphany after I almost crushed my skull with a SM465/205 combo. I've used the dowel pin ratchet strap method on many occasions since then.

I have a buddy that got up it in a 4 runner on 33's:eek: FAMAZING!

Guess I should mentioned that when I pull the 392, I pull the tranny with it. This of course is my T-all's engine.

But the dowel idea is something I may try.
