Hey,

I have contacted several Spicer dealers, both big name national drivetrain places and a local Spicer dealer (they do big truck, industrial, farm and automotive Spicer parts) and not one of them had either SPL55-3x or SPL55-4x listd in their computers.

The best I could do was find 5-806-x as the new Spicer replacement for 5-332-x.

Is the 806 the same as one of the SPL #'s?

If not, does anyone have another Spicer # for the SPL PN's listed above?

Both the local dealer and one of the big name nationals felt there may be different #s for retailer vs. wholesalers.

Anyone know?

Charly

Oh, and BTW, as of today I found these prices for the 3-82-871 35 spline stubs:

Local Spicer dealer: 76.15

Randy's: 66.80

Drivetrain Warehouse 64.00 (free shipping)

Reider's 67.00

TOR: 76.00

Drivetrain Direct: 79.00 (on backorder)

Gonna call on more later when the west coast businesses open.

thanks Jess.

I knew you'd know, but I didn't think you were in the shop yet.

So is the 806 greaseable or non greaseable?

and what is the PN for the other (grease or no-grease)?

Ok, so I've had a 806 in my hands, it definitely is the forged, non greaseable.

So...wtf is the 5-733x?

Is this the greaseable version? The spicer dealer didn't have one of those in stock.

Thanks,

Charly

Jess, if this statement is true please contact me if you decide to wheel at Paragon. You have kindred spirits out on the East Coast.

A 5-733x is the same joint as a spl 55-3x.It was an updated number that has now been updated again with the other number listed in the previous posts.,Just FYI Randy's R and P had the 5-773x(also known as the spl55-3x in about a month ago..Might give them a try.

so if I follow you SPL55-3x =5-733x=5-806x = non greaseable forged?

and 5-773x? was that just a typo?

if that is true, what is the current # for the SPL55-4x (greaseable forged)?

Randy's is the first place I called, the tech had never heard of the SPL s or the 806

Sorry 5-773x was a typo. Meant the 5-733x..Figures that you got that from a tech. I called an inquired around albor day and they pulled it right up .I had called to see if they were off backorder yet..Anyways, I am guessing that from the sounds of things the 806 is the updated version. Unfortunately, I don't have the part number for the updated greasable version other than the spl55-3x and the 5-733x..Sorry..
