Gonna go the header route on the 350 in the Cruiser.
Any of you know if the block hugger style will clear the steering column/shaft on a Cruiser with the Saginaw conversion?

Mine clear just fine... my pump lines are closer than the shaft...
If I knoew the P/O well enough, they are the cheapest ones you can get.. Prolly the $79 Summit Racing ones.
I've heard people here say headers contrbute to overheating... YMMV.

They clear....also, Summit will tell you they don't clear the motor mounts, but there is plenty of room with the Advance Adapter style. The only tight point is the nose of the starter, but I've yet to ahve an overheat problem.
IMO, huggers are not nearly as bad as the fenderwell exit headers for heat issues.

ya the noise of the starter is way close to the flange where the tubing bolts up. other than that they fit nice. the only complaint is they are getting this gay white coating after running them. if i took em off i could repaint em...but thats a joke!

As cool and neat as your engine is, Eric, the Sanderson headers will be perfect. I especially like the valve covers:D

I looked at all the headers for my hooptee as well. I had decided I that I was going to run the summit block hugger, center drop headers for several reasons. One of which being cost. However I ended up throwing a set of ram horn manifolds on it because I got them for free and it's basically the same thing. :D:D
Where are the pics of your motor MD?? damn, I haven't been here in a while.

I recently put sandersons on my v8 conversion (RamJet 350 crate)... they look and sound great and I was able to put the motor & the power steering where they really should go without compromising anything.
I tried block huggers before but could not get my drivetrain in the correct position with them (left to right).
