Will the np231 mainshaft from a 2001 4.0L 5speed TJ fit in a 1992 4.0L 5speed YJ?

thanks

YJ's as you know use a housing around the slip shaft. TJ's are completely external. They are interchangable and it will work but there is a seal surface on the tj that isn't on the YJ shaft. This may matter or it may not. I also think that they are different lenghts. Not sure on that.

tear them bolth appart and give it a try, then you'll know, may have to use the tail housing with the new shaft.

2001 Np231 would have the 5 speed NV 3550 in front of it not the AX15 in the 1992 In that case it would be diff I would think?

Im gonna guess it won't fit.... żż??
