I am trying to find a ford 8.8 to put in my parents jeep. I have been trying to use car-parts.com to track one down at a salvage yard. They ask whether I want an axle from a v-6 or v8, does this affect whether or not it was an 8.8" axle. I have found plenty of axles out of v-6's for a reasonable price, so I want to know if they will work?

Next we are swapping a chevy 350, TH350, and NP231c into this jeep. The TH350 we bought came with the Advance Adapter to mate it up to the NP231c, but it seems to have a 1 3/4" spacer between the trans and adapter. I am guessing it was a 2-wheel drive trans and the spacer is making up for the longer output shaft. The question arises when it comes to driveshaft angles, we are going to have a cv shaft made, will the additional 1 3/4" from the spacer cause too much of an angle? Because I would rather swap out the output shaft now then after the trans was installed. FYI: The jeep will also have a 4" Procomp lift.

Sorry for the novel

Thanks in advance

Depends on what it is out of. They came in rangers explorers and F150s. Ranger ones are 28 spline explorers are 31 and pretty sure F150 is 31 pline as well. Also they are all different width so you have to consider that. 95 up explorer ones have disk brakes as well
