1st Annual East Coast New Years Day FToy Ride the "EC-NYD-FR" (Icc-Nid-fer) :D :D :D

My junk pile is not finished yet, but it will be on the trail New Years Day. The TachedOut crew will already be there, but I wanted to try to get the Southern FToys together and start the new year off right.

There's:
Me
Zman
Spencer "Zman Jr"
Wade
Wade's 2nd ftoy??
#36 in TX
Wabbit :D
there's another guy in Tuscaloosa that's for sale
#507 in SC
XChassis in Memphis
The one in TX is for sale I think?? #125
And ..... Nolen has one in MS :D

We were looking to go to Gardendale, AL which is the same as Grayrock except it's free :D

Or Hawk Pride Mtn is in Muscle Shoals and is wayyy kick ass. Can ride there for two days and is very well marked. More fun than Grayrock.

Who wants to go?? The Wrong coasters are all invited and I'm sure I missed some other Southern gentlemen.

I don't know abou sponcership and catering and shit, but I'll make tshirts if you pay up front :D

Who's in??

The best I can do from my phone right thus second is to tell you to search tachedoutoffroad in YouTube and I've got videos from both places.

HP is the best park in AL in my opinion. The owners are cool and it's only like $20 for the weekend. Great riding fir 37"s plus and could probably still get a tow rig to the top of the hardest trail.

Harlan would probably be the only cooler place around here, but that's a hell of a hike for all of us I think.

Spencer "Zman Jr"
"Spencer" works for me, or Supra 4x4 but not Zman Jr, thankyou very much. I am the old man of the team.

09-14-2010, 07:22 PM
Hawk Pride? Unless that place has added some serious trails I would be very dissappointed to drive 9 hours to ride there, it is cool but mostly because it's 2 hours from my house. Harlan, Golden Mountain, the Cove in Monteagle, Gray Rock, Morris Mountain, Flat Nasty over in MO, SMORR, or Superlift in Hot Springs AR, all epic spots. If HP has added some new stuff please post up and i'll be glad to admitt I was wrong.

Superlift in Hot Springs AR, all epic spots. If HP has added some new stuff please post up and i'll be glad to admitt I was wrong.

So how would that place compare to Hot springs? Worth a 9 hour drive?

I like HP over Grayrock or Morris mtn.

Never been to Golden Mtn or Monteagle??

Harlan and Hot Springs are both cooler, but I think would be a minimum of 7 hours for everyone. I've got a four day that weekend so Im wide open. Hot Springs is a safer bet if it rains.

If we can get 10 ftoys together, I'll drive 8 hours. Got a two place trailer now too.

Hot springs has an open ride that weekend. It 7 hours from here, 10 from the ATL, 7 from Beaumont.

lets see here, if yall go to harlan that would give me about 3 and half months to come up with the money, harlan is about 7 hours for me. would you sell it without the tires since you have the tires up for sale? youve sparked my interest even though it doesnt look like yall are going to harlan

Hot Springs is 15 hours from Denver and 21 from Phoenix.

I don't have any real rules for the ride that I just made up :D

I'll be bringing two 4linked Toyota buggies and a built mini truck, but I try to avoid those oneton-herpesinfested-jeepbody-things.

I'll try to make it in #510.

I've never been to Golden Mtn but it looks fun. Harlan is 2 hrs for me. Sneedville/Chinquipin is awesome crawling but Jan 1 it would be wet/cold which makes things about impossible but still fun. Jellico is close for me too. Windrock is another to consider. Heard they have a lot of new stuff up there.(never been though)

TachedOutOffRoad
09-17-2010, 02:00 PM
Hot springs has awesome traction even in the wet and that's a huge bonus. Plus you can ride for two days and never see the same thing.

Hawk Pride is cool, never been to Jellico. Pretty much anything around here when wet is .... Nasty.

Do we need to do an official vote or something?

Who's 95% sure they can come?

Hot Springs is very awesome. I would drive 12 hours here anytime.

Hawk Pride is really good. I'd drive 8ish here probably. Deffinty for THE 1st annual NYDR!!!

Our club already has a ride planned for HS in feb so they want to go HP new Years. I'm honestly wide open though.

I want to get as many rigs as possible together, and Hawk Pride is still a great place to ride and would be easy to manage a group there. Hot springs is huge and we'd probably ended up getting split up.

The timing is perfect for me. I could make it any other year.

A four day wheeling trip planned each month until December and Family at Disney in November. Funds will be heavily limited at that point.

I will be voting for AL.:flipoff2:

TachedOutOffRoad
09-23-2010, 06:58 PM
I'll donate a keg if beer money was factored into anybodies expenses and am working on getting us a lower group rate too.

Anybody good enough to do some graphics for a shirt?

mtbrjon
09-25-2010, 07:22 AM
I asked the park manager at Superlift in Hot Springs about group rates and the following is his response.

"We are going to have some sort of discount that weekend anyway. Working on some other "entertainment" things too. Should be the standard "event" discount: $50 for three days for non-members half that for members"

I really wish we had better info and pics of Hawk Pride for those of you that have voted for that location but have never been there. There is simply no comparison with Superlift Park. When I was last there we didn't find many "trails" just obstacles. Fireroads with very short obstacles off to the sides. If this has changed please post up pics and info. If it hasn't then some of you will be dissappointed to have driven 8 hours or better to ride there. There were also no hookups, no restrooms or showers, no pavillion or convenience store on site, no gravel parking area, no lights............Just my .02 worth.

TachedOutOffRoad
09-25-2010, 07:43 AM
You're right fr the most part, but it's just like every other park near here. The "trails" arent really long, but there are plenty of "obsticales" to test your rig on.

For the purpose of this ride, if twice as many people can come to HP, the then that's what Im after. We already have a group goin to HS in Feb.

I'm looking for a large group for FToys and a location for the most to meet at a location in the middle.

HS is better, but quite a ride for most. Hell, I want to go to Johnson Valley :D

Spacecwboy
09-26-2010, 07:21 PM
since it looks like there is interest in both parks, lets do this. for those of us who cant/wont drive to one park or the other, lets just have 2 rides. One at HS and one at HP. I know HP is out of the picture for me (the drive is just too far and you guys' description of it just seals the deal for me. Too far and not an awesome park. HS is only 6-7 hrs for us from my part of TX and is a sweet ass park with all the amenities. So if there is anyone who is not able to make the drive to HP and that is the one that wins, we can still meet up in Arkansas if you want. I am making arrangements to go there regardless.

mtbrjon
10-02-2010, 06:43 AM

Well, I was hoping go get a few more votes in, but if we can get 8-10 ftoys to HP plus 7?? More Toyotas, I'll call it good!

I'd like to ride some n Friday, I don't know though. Will be there that night fo sho. I like to camp, BBQ, and drink beer. Some of the other TachRoadians will get a room in town Im sure.

I'll be in my 4seater if somebody needs a ride. No dickheads though, you can ride withsomeone else.
