: Q for the Australians

I keep reading the threads of the Australians that they have cheap parts well since it's cruiser heaven over there i believe that.
Now my question is what is the price of late model 40 series front doors. I would like to have good steel doors and finally get rid of my POS fibreglass ones.
And more importantly how much would shipping to The Netherlands be for two sets (to cut down costs a little).
I hope this isn't to much asked and i hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

Mark Koppert.

Damn it sucks that shipping is so expensive, but i might be able to get cheap shipping, it will take a while to arrange, but it might be possible.
So the doors alone are like $100 aus a piece or what?
What exactly would a steel door complete excluding mirrors weigh, sumthing like 30 Kilos?

I hope i get that shipping worked out, will let you guys now by then

The doors are pretty damn heavy... Reason why I'm thinking of building myself some custom ones from scratch ... besides the rust problems of course...
Mark, expect to pay 2 to 3 euros/kg of freight...

Good luck,

My local wrecker has a set of brand new Toyota 40 series door skins still in Toyota boxes. Took one out for this pic awhile back.

But if I recall correctly they were way expensive as he wanted around $US290ea !! but I guess being new a restorer will take them eventually as they are probably the only genuine new doors still in existence.

Thanks for the info.

If i could find doors here in Europe i would pay about $US 250 for a used one in doubtfull condition.
Brand new door skins will go for about $US450-500.

Saturday i'm gonna find out if the cheap shipping is working out, it's a long shot but i can try anyway.
Again thanks for the info.

BJ, I'll check around fot the mog diffs... But the weight is... OUCH !!! I bet...
Is there any special model wou're looking for... Mogs are being built since the late 50s... quite a few different designs I believe...
250 euro sounds quite low, but I'll try to check out...

As far as the doors are concerned, well... no thanks... These are really too heavy for me... I'm planning to go lightweight with a full alum. tub eventually :flipoff2:

Bye,

Sorry BJOR, the cheap shipping didn't work out and besides it was one way only, from Oz to the Netherlands.

But i can always take a look at prizes for MOG axles and shipping, it's gonna take a while tho, since i can't take any breaks off of work until january.
