Look in the phone book under rigging, logging or industrial saftey equipment --- whatever/however they list it. I found the same clevis' that my local 4x4 shop was selling at the rigging place for half the cost! And they had straps from 2" to 8"!! lengths from 8ft to 50ft.

And the stuff was cheap!!

Tractor Supply Co. has some big ones for pulling combines out of the corn fields. they also have some low-cost shackles and clevises (or is it clevi?).

I'll tell who NOT to call.......Masterpull!! I ordered some winch rope online , got confirmation right away and haven't seen it yet. I've called twice and both times got lame excuses as to why it hasn't shipped yet. If I don't have it by next week, I will cancel my order and get it from Rockstomper. BTW, I ordered it on Oct. 11th

A Rigging strap/sling is not a recovery strap. They do not streach like a recovery strap so you don't get the rubber band effect. It's like using chain, just mildly less dangerous. Make sure you have a "RECOVERY" strap.
Some people make the mistake of thinking they need a 4 inch wide strap rated 40,000lb. You get back into the same problem with not being able to take advantage of the rubberband effect. You have something like a 82 Tou pickup weighing 4k your never going to take full advantage of how it is supose to work. For most vehicles a 20k is plenty. For mud bogging where you get a major stuck then yeah you may need a 40k.
Northern tool sometimes has Keeper recovery straps and they usualy sell for $7-10 less than most 4x4 shops, about $15 less than 4wp.

Check with Desert Rat. I think the 2"x30' is 36.95, the 3"x30' is 45.00 and the 4" x 30' is $65.00 or so. They are Explorer Pro-Comp straps. All the prices I here were pretty damn high in comparison!
