Anybody put bucket seats in their FJ55?

What did you use?

What did you do for brackets?

I would prefer cheap and easy. Junkyard probably, maybe aftermarket.

I was originally going to do new chevy truck seats (buckets, minus the center section)with built in shoulder belts--- but they are hard to find, kind of large, and very expensive.

So, does anybody have any recommendations?

I used a set of Buckets out of a Nissan Hardbody P/U and RustyB fabbed up some brackets out of 1" square tube.

Cheap and easy and the height/fit of the seats was good.

Volvo buckets are really comfy, heeps of adjustments and if you look around you can find heated leather ffor those cold mornings or evenings........:D

Brackets can be mfg'ed if you got an open mind and a source for steel stock.

Welcome newbie!!!:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Thanks for the replys

When you fabbed the brackets, did you use the existing FJ55 brackets at all?

I would guess not, because there is only one bracket on each side.

If not, is it easy to remove the stock bracket? I cant really tell on my, because the PO covered them with carpet.

Thanks

Jared
