: shaved D60 problems?

I am considering shaving my rear 60. I was wondering if anybody out there has information if there will be a problem since it is a DD also. I realize that shaving it will reduce the amount of oil that it will hold. Will it heat up too much being on the highway for long periods? Anything that I should be concerned with?
Thanks

just flip the axle, yolk down, and fill it up completely. goodbye oil starvation problems, wouldn't have to change it as often either

Hey morpheous, I am a newbie , therefore I did a search before I posted. I didn't want to get flamed for a question that has already been covered. I have already read those threads and they don't talk about the rigs being dd's or if used for many highway miles. I want more clearance, but not at the expense of damage from driving so much.
But I do appreciate you trying to help.

Get a high pinion, front diff cover to modify for the rear. It has a higher fill hole, and is twice as thick as a stock rear cover.

Dynatrac sells these new (and they are actually priced pretty fairly).

I will give this a try when I fianally do it. Could I take more off and get more clearance since I have a high pinion in the rear?

It sounds like there shouldn't be any other problems, huh?
