I have a Brunton Com-Pro Pocket Transit that I really don't have any use for or any interest in. I looked and found information on them but I don't understand why so complex? I have basic orienteering skills with a map and compass and have never needed all this has. Is it for surveying? Please school me on this if any one knows. Also possibly for sale looks like new ones go for $500+!!!:eek::eek::shaking:

Short answer to your question is, yes.
This compass is designed for and used by land surveyors, geologists, and the mining industry, maybe some others. Way more than anyone needs for basic route finding. I would give you an offer, but I'm afraid I don't the cash to give you a fair offer right now.

Thanks for the info. This seems like a pretty cool tool but way more than I need.

The "Transit" in the name is a dead giveaway. :D Small survey tool. Ebay it. heh
