: Installing a tank?

I am trying to figure out the best way to install a plastic tank under my offroad trailer (fresh water on those longer wheeling trips will be NICE!), and I figured I'd consult with the gurus. It's a polyethylene rectangular tank with the fittings all on the same side, so all I need to do is figure out a way to fix it permanently to the underside of the trailer. I thought of just using a couple of steel straps a la OEM fuel tank, but was wondering how the plastic tank would stand up to the vibration on the trail? I also considered cutting an aluminum plate the same size as the bottom of the tank, then sanwich the tank between the floor of the trailer and the plate, maybe with some rubber in between the plastic and the metal? The benefit of this method would be some added protection from rocks...

Any ideas/suggestions/comments/insults?

Thanks!

You might search out a camper or two and spend a few minutes under them. I know many of then you poly type holding tanks. I have to believe you would get some decent ideas from that.

Good thinking. I always thought those tanks would be hidden, but I'll definitely take a look!
