:flipoff2: Hey guys,

I need some pictures or suggestions on mounting your steering rams. Here's what I'm dealing with right now. It's a Dana 44 front with high steer using avalanche arms and 1.5 tubing with rod ends. This is on a TJ so spring perches will be interfereing alittle. I want to mount the ram to either the diff cover to the tierod or mount the ram to my passenger upper control arm bracket which isn't stock it can handle it, to my tierod. Also my tie rod is furthest out on the avalanche arm and my draglink attaches to the second hole in the arm. sorry no pics. :D

I went just above the center section.

Hard to see from this pic but you can kind of make out the plate that I welded to the center section. Also the mount that goes to the center link is about 3.5" back off the center link. This keeps the ram traveling closer to one plane.

I also since space was getting tight I cut the cylinder down 1.25" to gain alittle more room.

nice setup it looks like it works well. Does anyone think that if I mount my ram to the avalanche steering arm it will weaken it and cause it to bend? Those things are skinny enough as it is.

Hmm... I'm not Matt (duh) but I know the answer to your question... That would be a big negative! Avalanche does not recomend their arms for full hydro steering. Since it appears that the arm was bent by the ram they won't warranty it. The real pisser is that not only have they stopped selling that style arm, they refused to even make him a replacement. So, Matt got two trips out of those arms and now he can't get a replacement. The new Avalanche arms are considerably shorter and won't clear in his setup. Even if they did, who would want to dump the cash for a complete new set of arms that will probably bend again and probably won't be able to be replaced again?

He's going to mill his own arms. You should have seen the chunks of die steel he had laying in the back of his truck yesterday. I bet the knuckles will break before his new arms bend ;)

The rest of the steering is in the same directory.
