I currently am building up a 72 cruiser, and have noticed so far that it has many upgrades not available in 72. ie power steering and 4spd tranny. Anyways, is there a easy way of identifying whether I have a 2 or 2f engine? Thanks.

Bear in mind there is a lot of mixing F & 2F parts. 2F will have the ID on the block, I think on the block under #1 exhaust on the Drivers side. It should have the oil filter mounted next to the distributor, but the 74 F also had the filter mounted here.
Pull the valve cover (2F had the aluminum but it will fit the F head)
Look for a 1/8" oil supply tube right in the center of the rocker arm shaft, on the passenger side, this is only on the F's. The 2 F feeds thru one of the head bolts.
If you have steel valve cover, and the filter mounted on the drivers side, it's an F, for sure.
I'm sure there are some on here with more to add.

There is an ID stamp on the block. It is on the passenger side at the back of the motor. You may have to scrape off a bunch of gunk to find it but it is there. It is the only flat smooth part of the block in that area. There is also an ID stamp on the head at the front of the motor on the valve cover gasket seal surface.
