: Built Ford Tough With Chevy Stuff
HammerDown 11-01-2002, 11:37 PM I just bought a 1969 Bronco. I have always wanted one. I have built several toyotas but this is my first Bronco.
I might go to hell for this but I intend to put a small block chevy and th350 in it. There is a nice space at the rear of the engine compartment for a rear mounted distributer.
What I need to know is there an adapter to mate a th350 to the stock tcase? If not how do I get the output on the proper side?
Appreciate your input
P.S. To any ford purists out there who think this is uncouth... :flipoff2:
TuffTruck 11-02-2002, 12:10 AM First of all how could you think to put a chevy motor in a ford:rasta: and most of all a th350:confused: :flipoff: .
But ok i am over that now first check with Adavanced Adapters
see what they got. Next go with a Klunve V any posible clocking
so nothing to worry about there are you going to keep the stock 20 T-case? or what we need more info. Go with an Atlas II colck it anywhere or both. Get a 205 I know AA makes an adapter to got to a th350 to a 205 ford or chevy. Build you own with a mill and get a costom made center shaft lots to do but whats you plans for this.
Common if you wanted a 350 th350 buy a chevy dammit, dont discrace ford with this nasty volgerity you call GM. :flipoff2: :flipoff2: C6 is twice as strong as th350 hold better too

HammerDown 11-02-2002, 12:22 AM Comparing a th350 to a c6 huh? Sounds like apples and oranges. :flipoff2: I already have a built 350 and I like the chevy engines better anyway.
Any ways to run a th350 and have the front output on the proper side without buying a aftermarket tcase? I don't have $2500 for a tcase. I could run a ford divorced 205 but I don't really like that idea...
TuffTruck 11-02-2002, 12:54 AM Ok you choise your rig dont matter to me just givin you shit. All right i didnt say spend 2500 dollars on an aftermarker 205 i said call AA and check on the adapter between a 350 and 205 or if they have on for a twenty $300-500 max. 205s all bot in the same pretty much 20 diff story you can use a ford 205 with this adapter just have to notch two hole for the shifter. If they dont have one bet you they do. Http:\\www.adavancedadapter.com\

HammerDown 11-02-2002, 01:56 AM Thanks I will check it out.
MXPAZ 11-02-2002, 10:35 AM Atleast if your gonna fuck it up put a 700r4 in it.
HNRYS69 11-02-2002, 03:33 PM Sell it and buy a HEEP! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
HammerDown 11-02-2002, 06:22 PM I think I might just make it simple on myself and build a sbf. Anyone have input on PAW's 427 windsor kit?
ALEX Bronco 11-02-2002, 07:09 PM Advance Adapter has the adapter to mate the TH350 and Dana 20. They also have the adapter for the 700r4 and d20. another option is use a newer GM NP231 or 241. I am in the same position with my new rig. I have a sweet TBI roller 5.7 and 700r4 and a complete glass body kit so is it really a Ford anymore?

Mcstiff 11-03-2002, 01:42 AM I would go for the SBC if you were going the get the Ramjet 350. I dont think you can get anything like that in SBF form, can you?
tonto 11-03-2002, 05:45 AM Running a Chevy in a E.B. isn’t a bad idea, the Chevy motor is shorter so you can actually move the motor back a little to improve the break over angle and I believe it produces better torque at lower RPM’s, do you already have the TH 350? If not the 700r would be a better choice for the 3.08 first gear and O.D., mating it to the D-20 would be the least expensive way to go, I would guess about $500.00 , but another way is to just run an Atlas I don’t think you need an adapter to mate the 700 r to the Atlas so you a little a head over most folks who have to shell out the duckets for an adapter to mate the Atlas to most tranny’s, but the Dana-20 should work fine.
Chad H 11-03-2002, 08:23 AM If your going to do this, at least put a frickin Big Block in it...
