How about it, anybody built there own wheel dolly (you know the little trailer that you put the front wheels of a vehiuchle on and tow behind your truck, mostly found behind motorhomes)? I found a lot of parts in my yard to build a wheel dolly out of. This would be more for those smaller cars and maybe the occasional rolling chassis that I can't be bothered to borrow or rent a trailer over. I just wanted to see how people dealt with the central pivot of the wheel carriage and if anybody ever put any springs on them. Any other design suggestions will be welcome as well. Thanks!

why not buy one? I had one for several years that cost me a whopping $400.. not worth the time to build one for that price IMHO.

Yeah I thought about buying one, but a decent one is usually about a grand out here. Anyone that is cheaper usually requires some sort of work that just isn't worth doing as I would probably spent less time making one. I am also trying to get rid of all the junk in my yard as well and I think I have enough for a wheel dolly minus some trailer springs.

You do NOT want springs on the thing. Rigid mount the wheel assembles to the frame of it.
