: More t-case questions

Does ford make any small, strong t-cases that will bolt up to a ZF5 but is a passenger side front output? I have been looking but it seems like the ford cases I have found are all drivers side. I was going to machine the ZF to match a D300 but money is going "elsewhere" right now and I was also thinking of taking parts from a Ford 205 and using them on a Chev 205 but wasn't too sure if the parts are interchangeable. Some say yes and some say no but I didn't want to waste time/cash finding out for myself. My wife says I have enough "junk" laying around now!

Since 1959 when Ford did there Light Duty 4x4 work in house I have never seen a passenger side drop for the T-case. Prior to 1959 M&H did 'most' of the conversions with a few done by Napco(the primary source for Chevy 4x4 in the mid to early 50's). What T-case these were are unknown to me but all will (99% sure) be divorced.

For the most part the internals of the NP-205 will interchange between Ford/Dodge/Chevy. Primary concerne for the Chevy is the weird bolt pattern for the married adapter. this may play havoc with the input shaft/bearing.

You'll need to go Dodge/Chevy/Jeep for a passenger drop.

Thanks Eric. That would explain things. Time for another change in plans.
