: Gas vent tube

On my custom flatbed setup I am using a marine style gas filler, which uses a stainless steel screw in cap...The tank i have is from an 89 toy with EFI...Currently i have a portion of the old vent line with a bolt shoved into it to prevent gas from spilling out and remove it when its time to gas up...Is there something I could possibly use instead of doing that everytime...I didn't retain the stock gas filling method because of how exposed that plastic screw in cap would be to hazards.

I have considered hacking up the stock gas door setup to use the vent with a regular gas cap, then just unscrewing the cap to bleed off pressure...

What have some of you done with your flatbed setups or relocated gas tanks...

Or should i just cap off the vent tube permanently and deal w/extremly slow fill-up times?

Run the current vent back to the filler hose. Then it will vent for fill ups and be covered durring normal driving. But the tank will still need a vent.
