What is the factory pinion yoke angle on a 79 F-350 front D60? I want to make sure I get the right caster. I have read on chevy you need 4 - 7 degrees back, but I couldn't find it for the Ford.
Thanks.

Don't know the factory pinion angle but I can tell you that the caster on the 60 in my rig from a '79 F-250 was 3.5*.
You could put an angle finder on one of the original spring perches and then take a reading off of the yoke and figure out the answer to your question with a little math! :D
How are you mounting the axle? Leafs? Coils? Are you turning the tubes to raise the pinion?

I am going coils and radius arms. I am welding on the axle wedges and just wanted to make sure I had the right angle. I understand what you said to find my caster. I just wasn't sure if I could assume the perches were level when mounted to the stock leafs so I wasn't sure if I could use that as a referance. If yours is at 3.5* then If I keep it at around 4* I should be ok. I It is going under my Ranger. I don't think my drive angle will be bad. I was just going to wait and see if I needed to do anything. If it is I was just going to rotate the nuckles. Thanks for the info.
