currently in the middle of a motor swap, and looking to relocate or replace the original oil-filter housing.

Adapting to a more modern spin-on solution would be sweeeeet :smokin:

found the following solutions online.

aluminum:

If you can find a 617 from a w115 chassis Mercedes, the oil filter housing is located differently than the newer ones. It is mounted much lower and the filter is accessed from the bottom of the car. It makes changing the filter a messier job, but might be worth it if you have firewall clearance issues with the original filter tower.

ordered some 5/8" aluminum plate this morning.
also ordered an oil thermostat along with a dual remote filter which will have both a full-flow and bypass filter :)

will post pics when it's done...

With some help from a few friends, the adapter turned out great :)

Used a gasket, as a template:

the biggest reason for my oil-housing relocation was due to a parking brake cable interference...no longer an issue :)
