: best 44 flatops and hysteer arms .. in your opinion
Moab Austin 11-04-2002, 08:15 PM ok who makes or has best deals on flatop 44 knuckles and arms..
because of remote location and ups I have decided it would be best if I could ffind somone with a "core" program, and buy knuckles and hysteerarms, rather than send mine off and get them machined just get a companies, then send them mine for a core...
anyways....
of all hte companies who's do you guys have..good bad stories..
yes I read all the avalanch threads about twisted arms
Wilson 11-04-2002, 08:39 PM Bnet and Twisted has new welded knuckles that are 10x stronger than stock and cost less than my machined flat top did. He can also get you any variety of high steer arms and 1 ton links. I'm running his steering setup and it rocks.
Bigger Valves 11-04-2002, 08:41 PM as always give tim a holler.. www.shakerbuilt.com

I was gunna deleat this thread after I got info I needed...but know I'll leave it..
about the arms...I dunno, half of em seems like a bad setup on hte user end...(I.E. steering with not enough travel bending arms etc)
and half hte time it seemed like maybe hte arms were weak?
I dunno....I think the people who own them neeed to chime in here!

10x stronger? Who tested them and how were they tested? What type of equipment was used to test them? I would like to see the inspection reports. I call BS!
Charly 11-05-2002, 03:13 AM I used arms from Bob Roggy.
Oxjockey 11-05-2002, 04:14 AM I know if you search you can find them. I posted about 5 places that will mail order mill them.

I've got to agree here. I have seen them. They're trick and cool looking ( for dana 44 parts :flipoff2: ) but really, 10 times stronger??? I think they were 5/16, maybe 3/8" plate steel, with 1/4" for the caliper brackets.
trick, yes
10X better, doubtful
uglyscout 11-05-2002, 07:26 AM My first choise would be to make my own...
But tons of companies make good arms and I 'think' all either sell taped knuckles or will tap your or take your as cores.
Here are a few
www.partsmikeparts.com - big and beefy!
www.shakerbuilt.com - I have a set of shaker's arms, still uninstalled though...
www.rockstomper.com
etc, etc, etc
Bones 11-05-2002, 07:32 AM One more vote for Parts Mike. Great parts and great service! The parts are beefy and prices are fair IMO. I just had him mill, drill and tap my knuckles, but he sells new cast knuckles as well. A friend has them and they are very nice.
Rubicrawler 11-05-2002, 08:45 AM Yet another vote for PartsMike! Great parts and super customer service!
Check him out at www.partsmikeparts.com ;)

Ummmm, Tony or Mike did I get it wrong???? or help me out????
bignissan 11-06-2002, 01:51 AM i believe i'll be fine with the avalanche arms. perhaps a "plug" welded in the hole not used will help distribute the load due to the hole "collapsing".
