broncorob...its for FABRICATING bumpers and pull-points.

i made a bunch of parts that are difficult and expensive to buy otherwise, and i'm selling them to whoever wants them to use for whatever they want.

hmmm, I was just curious because he was looking for fabricating supplies for "mounting tabs for shocks and control arms and dom tubing"
On the subject tho, as Old Scout already mentioned AA has a tremendous amount of different shaped tabs and what not. They've got a catalog so you can browse thru and find what you need

Old Scout, there is a weld seam inside the tubing that keeps you from sliding a draw-bar in there. on the tube i have it stuck out about 1/8" from the inside surface of the tube. i ground one out with a die-grinder (it sucked and took half an hour) and then decided to run the rest of them thru a gear shaper to scrape the weld out.

Broncorob....nevermind.

You can buy "reciever hitch" tubing... it is 2.530 across internally with no weld, costs about $6 a foot if you can find a guy who stocks it. (Like D and J steel in Redding, CA)

I also have 19 ft 6" of it in my garage :p

Matt, just for your info, as I hate to see anyone waste their time, the receivers you make are available through Harbor freight or Northern Tool, etc. cheaper than you can make them with your time factored in. Plus they have the outer rings on them already.
If you are intent on making them yourself you can buy the tubing already smooth on the inside.
HTH.

:edit: Foley beat me to it :edit:

i called all the local steel places and they could get it, but the price was outrageous since i only wanted 1 stick. i recall the cheapest place wanting over $12 per foot and i had to buy 24' of it.

so, i bought regular tube and made it work, and i use the same stuff for my spring perches.

Zach, i appreciate your concern...but, the HF and Northern receiver tubes are Powdercoated, and i hate powdercoating. also, i'd have to grind off half the powdercoating to get them to work in the bumpers i build. i cut a 2.5" square hole thru both sides of the bumper, centered both length wise and vertically. then i stick the receive tube in it and weld it in. i would have to remove the collar to get them to work in my bumpers. so, the time i would take removing the powdercoating and collar, then cutting them down to exactly the length i need (the HF and Northen ones are 6", i need 5") costs more than doing them right the first time.

i just figured there would be other people out there with the same problem i was having.

thanks for the replies!
matt
