Got a winch, but am not looking into shelling out eighty bucks for a winch plate. Has anyone made one, any pics, material used, etc? Thanks, Gui

My dad did for our CJ3b. He just used some steal plating he had and some shims that were bolted on to get it all level. Then bolted the winch on down!

Of course you can make your own,go to a fab shop make sure the steal is thick, but it isnt hard just use a torch and a grinder to smooth things out..Mine works great.. <IMG SRC="smilies/roxy.gif" border="0">

Mine is made out of 1/4" plate sits right inside the frame rails. Works great cost me 5 bucks for the steel.

Thanks, I searched it out, but nobody put pics of their project and what they did that worked out. I am going to find some scraps and build one 9will write up with pics on it, hehe!)
