Does anyone know anything about the FJ45 wagon at SEMA? From the pics, it looks like it is running around on mog axles suspended by aiirbags. Anyone know any more details? Who built it?

That "thing" being just a showtruck, it shouldn't be big deal unfortunately...

rims + hubcaps = bad omen :(

Anyway... :shaking:

Apparently it belongs to the 4WP owner in Reno.
5 link, mog axles with an airbad suspension. The Air bags are pumped up fully in that pic..

Theoretically he has a hard time finding people to wheel with because he just "drives over everything"

Donno,
I'll get more pics later

i saw the truck about 6 months ago. he had shown some interest in attending the 45 run, but then i never heard back. might not have been roadworthy yet.
i'm pretty sure that the whole floor is all fiberglass; mostlikely cause it was a rust bucket.
i would like to check it out again cause last time i saw it i was not very impressed, although it looks like the truck turned out ok. the owner had told me that he wants to compete in some of the rock crawling competitions with it!?
i guess we'll see.:D

I would like to see that! That thing would be destroyed on the first roll over. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a cool truck and I love the mog axles. But a rock crawling contest? Yeah right!

if i remember right that thing was a concept rig built quite a few years ago. it was not on mog axles or anywhere near that big at the time but it looks like the one that was in the mags.

No Brian, that is a different rig.

It was the Millen Cruiser with the Ind Suspension and Toy V8.

Paint job makes it look similar, but it is different. Millens rig was widened 6 or 8 inches to get it to fit on the UZJ100 Cruiser's frame. This beast looks stock width, with xtra wide fenders. I like his solution to the normally termanal 45 wagon tailgate problem. (ie unobtanium handle etc)

IIRC it was put on a tundra frame, more of a show piece than anything else. I'm told now some yokel at Toyota North America gets to drive it now every day. Bastard:D

No, it was a UZJ100. You're thinking of the TLC concepts, one of which *did* use a Tundra frame or at least part of it.

anyways, to swing it back to the topic

it is still a sweet ride, and ill bet that panhard and steering rod would be close to level when at ride/drive height

i still love it, awesome!!

but my jealousy wants me to knock the 5 link mounts, that are hanging down in the rocks/mud :flipoff2:

and whats with all the wheel nuts? is there two full sets, sumpin weirds goin awwn? are they hummer rims (forgive my ignorance) but they look like the pics ive seen of the mog/hummer combos

The panhard and steering arms do return to almost level...

Yep Hummer wheels with custom centers...

I want..... Except for the silly chrome nuts....

weather the retro cruiser was put on a tundra or UZJ is sorta irrelevant, the suspension is custom, front IFS is widened toy stuff and rear IRS is completely scratch built.

Damn you gotta admit the "cool" factor is there............playing with the air bags that is.
Needs to get rid of the chrome headlight rings and get a factory bezel..................this look only works on a FJ25.......... IMHO
I'd take it:flipoff2:

That is undoubtedly the sweetest FJ45 wagon I have seen! Have to agree with the chrome, but at least its not "over-chromed"!:skull:

Air, alot of the Land Rovers use that kind of suspension

Clearly not to that much advantage, however.

Very cool.
