Getting ready to put this motor/tranny/clocked d300 back in.

What have you all done for mounting the clocked 300.

Before this swap i was going through trany mounts and motor mounts like once every other month. Is it a bad idea to mount the d300 down solid to my belly up pan?

Help please.
Nate.

I'm going to a flipped and clocked flat Dana 300 behind my SM420 this winter, I'm thinking of mounting the trans and t-case from above with something similar to the Klune-V mount plate, only flipped up-side down, and bolted solid to a tubular crossmember than runs from one frame rail to the other, with something similar to M.O.R.E. motor mounts at the frame, that way my new flat belly skid can be totally flat, and I can remove it without having the whole drivetrain come down with it.

See the flat bellied CJ thread for a pic of mine.

Seems to work good with poly sping eye bushings at the ends and the tranny mounted flat to a piece of steel.

Need to make sure the motor mounts are "solid" as well to avoid messing up the BH.

I'm dealing with the same thing on my CJ right now. Unfortunately with my 727 I can't clock the D300 or the front shaft will hit the tranny. I don't want to go to the two piece shaft either.

The problem I'm having with the tranny mount is I can't go from one side of the frame rail to the other without going way below the frame. The front output gets in the way. What I have so far is a piece of 1.5" square tubing going from frame rail to frame rail and it's right underneath the rear output housing. I'm planning on going forward from this piece to the tranny mount. Then take a piece from the drivers side frame rail to the tranny mount also. The problem is trying to keep everything low and small so there's room for the exhaust to run between the tranny mount and tub on the driver's side. I looked at MJ's picture and it gave me an idea which I'm going to try. A friend has the same setup as me, but I can't quite picture what he did to make it work. Unfortunately his Jeep is about 75 miles away so I can't run over there for a look.

Anybody else run into this?

Definitly Poly spring eye bushings on the engine and tranny. M.O.R.E. sells the "bombproof" motor mounts or you can try to build your own. Something similar for the tranny will handle your problems from there.
