Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the POR board. I've got a fairly decent built Nissan on 40's...the thing is Nissan steering sucks. So I have a steering box from an 84' chevy 2wd, and a pump from and 85' chevy. How hard is it to fab up some brackets to moutnt the PS pump? I am going to be running hydro assist when I convert to the GM steering as well. Any ideas on this? Also, what size cylinder should I use on the hydro? The d44 is from an 80' wagoneer, I think I recall needing a 6" stroke? or is it 8"? I saw an 8" on a d60. Thanks,
Greg

Almost everyone uses 8" stroke. In some cases 8" is too much stroke, so shims(washers) are used to limit the travel of the cylinder. I didn't have to do this on mine though.
As far as P/S pump brackets, if you put the solid axle on the truck, I think you can figure out mounting a P/S pump.

thanks. i can figure out the brackets....i was just looking at it. i am going to modify the stock one and shouldn't be too difficult. 8" seems right. just run the spacers(if needed) on the cylinder itself, right?
thanks.
