i just got it and it shift very hard and way to late? unless you let off for 2 seconds?

any ideas on how to fix it?

Rebuild tranny or get a junkyard tranny?

there is no valve body or solenoids i can try first?

If there was anything like that, it would just be masking the problem, not solving it...

Make sure the TPS is adjusted properly, it controls shift point. Pathfinders of that era are notorious for bad transmissions though.

Get a 5 speed from the junk yard and swap it in.

if its not any easy fix ill sell it or part it out!!!

Drain and fill with new fluid. Don't do a transmission flush because that could (or will) break junk loose and you'll completley kill it.

That's the cheapiest/easiest thing to do.
