i got my hands on a striped 94 4 door cherkee for next to nothing.. but its striped.. so like my dad always said go big or go home.. im looking for a 94-98 dodge 3500 to part out a put under it... i would like to do it all right on the first shot so just looking to see what u guys say:mad3:

It's going to take a ton of work. I also don't think the stock cherokee structure can handle something that heavy. The front end would have to be converted to frame, and that's just the tip of the iceburg I'd guess. All the power to ya though if you do it. Your sucess would inspire others (like me) who are interested but turned away by the vast unknown amount of work required.

Ummm....lots of tube. Youll never get a unibody to handle a big diesel. You could plate the shit out of it and Im sure it still rip itself apart.

Look at FreeRiders Build up. If you removed the front clip....... and about 90% else of the rig ::laughing:.... you might have a shot. At that point count on a 10K plus build with your motor/tranny/tcase...then axles, tube, suspension etc.

Go find a 4BT diesel. Or check out the Benz Diesel build. Much more realistic.

This stupid stuff always makes me laugh. You want to take a perfectly good truck and put it all in a stamped sheetmetal jeep.

If you are going to do that much work, make/buy a tube buggy and put the stuff in that.

Narrow, dovetail, and bob the dodge; then drive it.

cut the XJ up and bolt it to the dodge frame. done.

Great idea. That's stupid simple really. With any luck a few of the bodymount holes will line up so you can set a cool 5" BL right away.
But won't the Cherkee body be longer than the Dodge? I think you need to stretch the frame about a foot.

Damn.. if Dodge=Jeep then won't everything just fit right in? Mounts, wire harness, computers, gauges... Fuck, it's a clean swap. Why hasn't this been done a million times already??


Edit : My bad, it's been done plenty. I had to google New Zealand Dodge to Jeep Cummins diesel swap. The whole diesel thing is way bigger over there. I don't know much New Zeelandish so i just used the Google translater.

No the dodge wheel base is 131 and the xj is 101 so I'm going to have to cut down the frame and/or move the axles but I will see how the body sits after I the them both striped down
