i will be vacationing with the family in february. hoping we can make it early enough to be able to spectate the koh. even if i cant get there in time, i would really enjoy an opportunity to see the area on this trip.

is there anyone interested in taking a passenger for a wheel around then? i will be staying in palm dessert, so technically not far from. i am coming from vancouver island, b.c. Canada.

one day hopefully i will have the time and money to build my typically rusting northern 4runner into something i can drive there for this type of vacation, but as i wont have it even remotely close to that kind of condition, i was wondering if there was a chance of hitchin a ride for an afternoon while down there.

more than willing to reciprocate if someone was planning on being on vancouver island sometime in the future.

If that doesnt get you anything, you are close enough that you should just head out there in whatever you are driving, get to a few of the easier to access trailheads, and hike the trails. Backdoor and Turkey Claw are the easiest to get to, Chocolate Thunder is also good. The road out to Jack and Sledge is 2wd but theres a few spots that you'd want more clearance than a standard rental sedan.

a slight delay , due to a nsaty scratch on my eye,..long story,... but we hit up the Joshua Tree national park today, and are planning to go to JVOHV tomorow. if you see a silver caravan with british columbia plates on it, feel free to stop and say hi. it will me myself, my wife, and my toddler , Seamus. just planning on driving out, and hiking I guess, but feel free to ask me to tag along a ride or two million :P
