ok this is for my friend and he has a cj7 and he just got done doing his spring over, and one thing that confused him is where to mount shocks because the stock mounts make it so the shocks are higher, any pictures on how you would mount longer shocks would be great thx

I used the stock mounts on my dana 44's.

COuld buy/fab some weld on shock tabs and do the same thing.

Is that a spring holding your brake line up?

MORE (http://www.mountainoffroad.com) sells shock brackets like the stock 44 ones MJ mentioned, but these are straight, not angled.

On my ' 76 the shock mounts are on the Spring plates and they worked fine, they are a little higher but that didn't hurt me because of the extra flex I got from very soft stock wrangler springs and my air shocks are totally adjustable for pressure and ride so they don't bottom out.

Hope it helps

jds seems like you have the closest to what i'm looking for, but he says that the shock are like stuffed between the two mounts.

get some brackets to weld to the axle, you will really limit your travel if you don't unless your upper mount practicly goes up too the hood. I would also get taller upper mounts if you can and just run the longest shock you can buy

Thats what Id do too, conferr sells weld on mounts that work well. Id weld them on the tubes, then get some ford shock towers. :)

We got the con-ferr weld on mounts for the tube & got Ford shock towers to replace the upper mount - needed to do so to be able to fit 9012's on it - here is the article I did on it:
