Ok, I'm new to the FJ40 thing.... I've got a 72 with the F motor... I've drained the oil and replaced the filter but for the life of me I can't find the oil cap to fill her back up. I've got the chilton's manual and that's no help... I've called the local Toyota dealership and there mechanics had know idea what I was talking about... they insisted there's an oil inlet on top of the valve cover... so next I called the national Toyota "hot line" and the guy who helped me there only had a 2F manual. On the passenger side of the engine, there is a tube that comes up from the block, this is where I assume the oil goes how ever when I open the cap and look down there seems to be some kind of splash gaurd to keep the oil from coming back up.... but the deal is I can't open that with the long @$$ funnel I've got..... so any ideas??

Thanks again for any help.

The oil fill cap is on the front part of the valve cover - it's about 2.5" in dia and usually made of black plastic. check out this diagram:

Do not try filling the oil by way of the dip stick tube, other wise people might start calling you, well, never mind
