Hey gang,

Did IH products ever come with an Eaton rear? I found a crew cab IH beast that has a rear end with a drop out front, just like an eaton, but, I thought Eaton's only came on early Chevy. I looked at the archives and I found some info on the IH corporate, but the pic links don't work. Too bad, can someone describe to me what one of these looks like?

Anyone got a pic of the corporate rear found in IH mid weight
trucks? I don't know what year or model this thing is, it looks kinda like a scout but... 8 bolt wheels and that ugly ass farmer dump bed. The tags and most of the cab is gone.

I'd appreciate the info, I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I pull the beast.

They look like a 9" on steroids. There a PITA to find parts for, keep looking.

A 14B , D60/D70 is a much better move.

Yes, I know that an eaton isn't very common or easy to get parts for, but I'm still interested if this one is indeed an eaton.

Pics? Anyone? Especially of the front (pig)?

From what I can find the Eaton axles used by IH were 2 speed and very HD 12k to 13.5k. The 14xxx number is the IH part #

What should have tripped me off is that the rear cover seemed to be welded on, and not removable.

11" Ring Gear, 7,500lbs rating. 15/16" more ground clearance than a Dana 70, 1.5" 16sp axle shafts.

Mine has the "tall" 4.30 gears, also available with 4.87, 5.57, 6.17

I believe a NoSpin was available as well, though not in my Camper Special!
