You can find people from all over Alabama on the CAOS4x4 website. They have frequent trail rides.

Mt. Olive (Gardendale) and Huntsville are rock crawling capitals of Alabama. Look them up.

BTW, since we have the perfect audience, I have a question...

Someone (not a 4x4 guy) was telling me about a spot I think in Northish Alabama that was MILES after MILES of powerlines owned by TVA that you can ride on for a week and not get to the end. He said every weekend there are trucks and 4 wheelers all up and down it. Said it runs all the way up into TN.

I dunno if he was bullshitting or what but it sounds interesting.

I'm down in Ft Walton. I live on Eglin Air Force Base. There is a small trail in Crestview we ride on quite a bit. I have heard of this place south of Birmingham that is supposed to RAWK, but not sure where it is.

Isn't there a pretty big 4 wheel drive parts place in Mobile?

I have heard of something similar but it was a fire break road. It starts in NC (Jackson Co) and goes south into Georgia. I asked a forrest ranger about it when I was in college at WCU. He just smiled and said it was there somewhere. Would be cool for a week long camping excursion.
