Most of you know that I sold my FJ55 to CALFJ60 in order to get my sandrail hobby/bus. off the ground. Just wanted to drop some pic's of what has come of the money I made. I bought a Pro-Tools fully hydro bender with the 50 ton ram, a Miller TIG welder from Ramstein, a drill/mill/lathe combo, a Hobart Airforce400 plasma cutter and a butt load of other stuff. Here is a recent pic of one of my rails sporting Swamper TSL atv tires and a 2001 Yamaha R1 power plant. Almost all parts are made in house. Enjoy, once I get rid of a few this winter a new cruiser will be on it's way again!!!

Sweet! Are you selling those buggies as turn keys? What kind of engine,VW?:skull:

Yes I am selling them as turn keys but I don't want to really get into that here on this site. The engines are street bike motors from salvaged bikes, usually with ony about 1500 miles or so. Total width on the buggy is 65-68" and length is about 97-100" center to center of each wheels total weight is 600-750lbs depending on type of suspension and other goodies used. Average top speed is 75-100mph depending on gearing and the driver. Most engines are putting out 150hp or more. Tire size is 24" front and 25" rear with a helluva alot of traction.

Cool, I just started building a rool-my-own sand rail. I've got an alcohol gulping 355, powerglide and 9 inch for the powertrain. I'll be running King Coil Overs, a long travel A-Arm set-up up front, and a four link in the back.

What size DOM are you running? I'm planning on using 1.5" with .095 wall.

Good luck,
Eric

Due to the light weight of the rail I'm using 1"x.095 wall tubing for the frame and for the moving parts 1"x.120. Most people in the industry that I know use 1.5"x.120 on the larger rails such as the one you are building. Is yours going to be a front, mid or rear engine mount? I am using a trailing arm rear that I built but am thinking of trying a link rear on the next one I build. I have a guy interested but he doesn't want trailing arms so I'll have to see what I can come up with.

So far it looks like a front engine set-up. And you're right, I'll also be using .120 wall for the stressed areas. I'd like to keep the weight down some, although I'm starting with heavy components... At this point, I'm still planning and gathering.
