Welcome, Newbies!

Please check in HERE before posting elsewhere on the board.
This is to prevent each and every newbie from posting his or her
own "Hi, I'm new here!" thread. These things become a nuisance,
and tend to slow down the board.

Remember to include your First Name, Rig, and any information you
care to share about yourself.

If you are sick of the annoying pop-up banners (They are annoying,
but Lance, the Owner, needs to pay the bills around here somehow!),
and would like to support the best bulletin board on the Internet,
check out this link: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/payments.php

REGULARS: The Management has requested ONLY NEWBIES POST HERE.

Hello, My name is Mike, I am a newbie.

I have been lurking for a while, so i decided to start to play with the others. I will try to play nice.

Been around this site since May of 2000, but it still says newbie under my name...usually try not to post unless I have something to say or have a really good question to bother people with.

I do get a good amount of tech and info off of here and I've never posted in any of the newbie threads, soo I guess now is as good of time as any.

My name is Matt and I'm an alcoholic...oh wait wrong forum, tho I did drink quite a few budweisers tonight.

I have a 95 XJ, I call it my junk. It was rolled in April of 2001 and rebuild to decent shape sometime there after, by me and my dad spending about $250 and 100 man hours.

I'm currently running 38s with a D30 front and a D44 rear. Got a good deal on the tires and D60s are coming this winter. Currently I'm running long arms and coils at all four corners. With the D60s an exocage will be built this winter as well. Big dreams beyond that include Atlas II and coilovers, probably the summer of 2004.

I'm a long time lurker and a 2nd time newbie. My first registered screen name got blown out within a few days of registering :-(

I live in Western WA, but I'm down in L.A. for the next few months.

I 'm a member of the Boeing Employees Off-Road club and I've been lucky enough to wheel couple of times with a few of the more prolific posters here :-)

I have a green 89 YJ that is modified just enough to follow my club around the PNW. I also have a butt-ugly 87 XJ that I rescued from near abandonment.

Back to lurking......

That IS my light side! :flipoff2: Yeah, if I just wanted to mall crawl, I wouldn't waste my time here. I know there are years of knowledge here and I want to turn every bolt on the TJ before even the first lift. Well I might as well post here and get it over with.
Just found this place by accident. I signed in and already talked to cool people. This place seems to be a good place to talk shop without all the useless banter of bullshit from teens who couldn't find their dick if it was in their hand.
I think i'm gonna like it here.

Soo....anyway.....

I drive an '86 GMC 3/4 ton p/u. 8" skyjacker all spring with 36" swamper radials.
That's my daily driver (and the lift laws suck here....go figure)

I also have an '80 Cj7 that I was going to build 'cause it's in great shape....but now i'm just going to sell it because I have too many rides.

I also have my new project truck that I started to collect parts for.
It's an '87 Chevy shorty 1/2 ton. I'm going to make it a flat bed....divorce a 205 from the T400...put Rockwells in front and back...add an injected BB...and after a nice rollcage and a military PTO winch...it should be alright. OHH...anybody selling some 44" boggers ?

I also have a '99 Grand Cherrokee....for the wife.

......And for fun, i'm on a Monster Truck race team.

.....oooh yea..I almost forgot....:flipoff2:

Well, there's a newbie post for ya !

My rig may or may not include: My computer, my ass, my chair which encases my ass, and any variation of the previous. Well, I'd really like to meet you all but my body is reminding me that it is still wrthing in pain, so I must squelch it by A)Eating, B) Sleeping, or C) masterbating. My Name is Tobin Gardner. I've got a yellow 82 Toyota Truck. I put a 4" suspension and a 2" body lift on so I could run my 33x12.50 TSL Radials on 15x8 black rockcrawlers with plenty of room for bigger. I have a poprights front and rear. I recently got the 4.7 transfer case gear set to preserve my Downey Super Clutch II, both of which were made possible with the help of SuperRunner. Finally bobbed 19.5" off the very long bed. Custom sliders as well as front and rear bumpers help with protection. Rock lights, CB, Ham radio, etc.

Oh, I'm 20 years old. Just got married to a 25 year old and we now live out in Draper, UT. We got her a very clean and very stock 87 4Runner that will be getting slowly modified soon with her help. (gotta teach the chicks) Actually I don't know what I'm doing, that's really why I need her help! I am in the Toyota T-TEN program at Weber State University and a member of WildYoats.

Anyways, I drive a '79 FJ-40 Land Cruiser. I've had it for about 3 years now. (It was a birthday present...OK so he's not all bad!) Working on killing the poor, pitiful, extremely tired 6 so I can put in an 8. Poor thing has the damnedest time getting up the hill to work! But it looks nice with the purple stuff I add to it!

I live in El Cajun (Cajon), CA. Member of the San Diego 4 Wheelers. Who are, by the way, having our 5th Annual Supserstition Mountain Run (outside El Centro, CA) January 17-19.

Yadda... yadda... yadda...

Sorry, I didn't see this thread before.

My name is Matt. I drive a 1978 K20 with 39.5 Boggers, sm465, np203 (part time), 4.56 gears, and it's for mud.

I am planning on finshin this truck up with a d60, high angle drivelines, paint job, winch, and some other shit. Then I'm going to get some 38's, and 44's (so that I can run in 3 classes). This is just for mud, so I am going to buy a beat up truck with good drivetrain, and make it for trails and rocks. But not until I am done with the 78.

My daily driver is a 1997 Tahoe, which I am not goning to heavy mod.

Oh, and by the way... I'm 16, and I pay for all my own shit. :flipoff2:

Hi all, long time listener, 1st time caller. I was cruising the mall parking lot talking on my cell phone and surfing the net on my PDA when the glare of the sun blinded me by reflecting off my chrome SteelHorse tubular bumper and chrome hood hinges. I hit a speed bump and stuffed my 36" SuperSwampers in to the fenders of of my TJ with a locked D-35 rear end and a 2" spacer lift and 3" body lift. Guess if I wouldn't of had my swaybars disconnected, I wouldn't of stuffed the tires. SO anyways, when I hit that monster speedbump my PDA jumped to this website so I thought I'd say hi and hope you can all answer all my "newbie" questions for me and please, post your replies in less than 3 minutes please as I get very inpatient waiting. NOW......seriously, I am an owner of a fairly stock 99TJ who is sick and tired of the "know it all" dumbasses on JU who knows someone who has this or did that. I want to build my ride right and what I see here you all know what you are talking about. Yes, I have a D-35, it is going out in the dump soon. No I don't have a bit of chrome. I want to learn how to fab my own crap. Flame me all you want if I ask a "stupid" question, but please try to teach me something while you bust my nuts OK? LOL So in the tradition of POR:flipoff2:

my name is travis and my wife is jennifer and some of you have seen us out and about over the last year or so, but i thought it was time to be "on the boards". jennifer drives a 97 4runner with factory locker, it stays on the road most of the time except for the occasional family outing. my 4runner(popeye) is an 87, some good mods, but still sports the ever so popular IFS. were looking forward to doing as much wheeling as possible before we relocate to rhode island this august for about a year. SUBJECT: The Cave

Do not distribute outside the Organization.

Hi Guys,

We've all been putting in long hours recently but we've really come
together as a group and I love that! However, while we are fighting a Jihad, we
can't forget to take care of the cave, and frankly I have a few concerns:

First of all, while it's good to be concerned about cruise missiles we
should be even more concerned about the dust in our cave. We want to
avoid excessive dust inhalation (a health & safety issue) - so we need
to sweep the cave daily. I've done my bit on the cleaning rotation....
Have you??

Second, it's not often I make a video address but when I do, I'm trying
to scare the s**t out of most of the world's population, okay?
That means that while we're taping, please do not ride your scooter in
the background or keep doing that "Wassup" thing. Thanks.

Third: Food. I bought some Kraft Singles recently, clearly wrote "Ossy"
on the package, and put it on the top shelf. Today, two slices of
cheese were gone. Consideration. That's all I'm saying.

Fourth, I'm not against team spirit and all that, but we must distance
ourselves from the Infidel's bat and ball games. Please do not chant
"Ossy, Ossy, Ossy, Oy, Oy, Oy" when I ride past on the donkey. Thanks.

Five: Graffiti. Whoever wrote "OSAMA F***S DONKEYS" on the group toilet
wall, it's a lie, the donkey backed into me, whilst I was relieving
myself at the edge of the mountain.

Six: The use of chickens is strictly for food. Assam, the old excuse
that "the chicken backed into me, whilst I was relieving myself at the
edge of the mountain" will not be accepted in the future. (With
donkeys, there is a grey area.)

Finally, we've heard that there may be Western soldiers in disguise
trying to infiltrate our ranks. I want to set up patrols to look for
them. First patrol will be Omar, Muhammad, Abdul, Akbar and Dave.

Love you lots,

Group Hug

Os

PS - I'm sick of having "Osama Bed Linen" scribbled on my laundry bag.
