Don't know if this will show up, got it from the D-90 site. I know that isn't a pleasant feeling on a mountainbike at speed, cant image in a 90:D :D

if the dude didnt freak and freeze up, he may have been able to save it with liberal use of the go pedal

I'd bet dollars to donuts that they were "dune jumping". Probably a case of "well, theres nothing to run into, so it can't hurt to go 35 mph, after all, I'm in a Rover!"

Im with redrangie on this one.

My money says that they were havng some fun in the dunes and decided to see what happened when they gunned it to the top.

The short version of the story from the fellow who submitted it is that they were trying to catch up to the rest of their group and while following the edges of the bowls, were following tracks that lead to the crest of that dune. They thought the fellow standing in the picture was waving them to proceed but was actually trying to wave them off. If I understand his wording correctly, the D90 actually stuck in the sand like that until they hooked a line to it and pulled its ass back down onto 4 wheels again.

Lucky for them that it did stick like that. Bet they had some dirty drawers after that one. I know I would have made a few diamonds and I wouldn't even have needed the coal.

Time, heat and pressure. The same things that make a diamond also make a waffle ---
