This question is for my buddy who just bought a 1987 FJ60. I have only delt with Toy mini's. So i am trying to help him out with his suspension. So as far as now it looks like he's going to go with the SOA. Does anybody know of a good shop in the bay area that will do this? What is the price range without parts-w/parts. Oh, yeah dont flame me. I'm just helping someone.:D

Trent Fabrication, Tahoe City Ca. formally know as outback inovations. Does really nice work.530-581-2090. Not the bay but worth the drive.

Gary Kardum at Mudrak Custom Cruisers in Sonoma. He did mine three years ago and it was flawless. Price reasonable for the amount of work, and top notch work. Check it out at: www.mudrak.com

Varies a LOT depending on what your friend wants done, which parts, what he wants to end up running. Best to talk to Gary rather than throwing numbers out.

Mudrak did the SOA on my cruiser, and I'd recommend him. He has loads of experience and he's a good guy.

i did'nt know you needed to go SOA to play in the flatlands?!:flipoff2:

i've got 2 good reasons for you to move out here:
1) excellent cruiser shops everywhere (at least in CA)
2) ROCKS!!!!!!! so you can put that SOA to use:D

My friend Tyke is a very capable welder and all around Cruiserhead an excellent mechanic. He's a farmer but makes supplemental income by working on people's Cruisers. He is just starting to get into cutting and turning now but is a very experienced fabricator and wheeler and is all around a good guy.
Email him at farmboy@sover.net, he is in Southern Vermont and is also in general excellent wheeling country. Also, I'm not sure how Lance's back is these days but I know he was doing someone else's SO on their 40 or 55 lateley, and I believe you know Lance. When I get back to the office I can post his email, he's in Virginia.

I drove 1,500+ miles to Sonoma to drop off my Cruiser at Mudrak's and he had it for six weeks, but it was worth it! Besides, when I picked it up I flew in with my wife and dog and we turned it into a small vacation, visiting with Morgan and his family, doing some sightseeing in the Bay area, and even driving down the PCH to Carmel. We had an awesome time and the truck did fantastic on the way back and ever since, it's got almost 30,000 miles on the SO and counting...

Henry - if you're willing to drive my 40 the 3,000 miles to CA, then I'll take you up on it :D , not paying for mileage though, or time  :D . Yeah, I remember you saying he was tops ... just too far.

Andre - yeah, I know Lance is great with that stuff, but with all he's got going on in his life - neck, soon to have papoose (sp?) etc, figure another project from meathead mike isn't what he needs. Good point though - I'll give him a ring and see who else he knows that could do it.

Orange - C'mon man. It's not my fault I live here :D . Lived in CA for awhile, but got transferred around too much :( . Cool though - now I'm laid off so I can finally go on the dole and collect some of what I paid in :D

damn, mike. if you just got laid off then now is the perfect time to pack up all the crap that's worth keeping in your rig and get back on the trail out west!;)

Give FC187 a call, he does awesome work, might even save you some bucks. From what I've heard Mudrak is good but pretty expensive.
