It pulls great and all, but I know it has more in it. Some sort of a chip? Exhaust? Where should I start? Thanks

I'd start by opening the exhaust up then if its TBI put a 250 ohm resistor in the coolat temp sensor return lead. If it's carb, open that intake up some and start playing with primary jetting by way of raising and lowering the needles.

This may or may not be worth it, but...
A guy I was Course Marshallin' with at Road America a few years back swears by this. (and he knows mechanics)

He put Jacobs wires (ceramic ends) in his 3500 454 and says seat of the pants power improved and he got 1 to 1.5 MPG improvement.

You may have a truck where you get the advertised optimal improvement.

In any case... Jacobs wires are very good wires and are lifetime so you can't hardly go wrong.

Open up the exhaust some and improve the intake filtering...

Those two things will help.
Then, you can cam it etc but a 454 is probably enough power as it is.

get a turbo, if its a fuel injected engine, try increasing injector size

They make a nice system for this package, retains all the computer/efi stuff- idles like a stocker, boost bypass for normal cruise etc but you've got it when you want it!:D
