not too bad with stock tires and a light foot.

apparently it is about 10 times stronger than a stock Dana 44 axle shaft:(

I have been running one behind a Cummins for over a year a year with out any problems..I put it in after the NP205 Shelled out and I do not have a light foot..The frame of the truck it is in broke about a month ago but it is going into another truck which should be up and running by the end of the week..

Im happy with mine, never had any problems.I run a stock 350 ,37"tires,and a light right foot most of the time :D Just build a good skid plate for it and it should last.

I had a 208 in my Bronco. After I swapped the Big Block in it lasted aprox 200 miles. That was on 32's with a very heavy foot (how can you not have a heavy foot with a brand new big block?). When it went it took out high range, and it was on the highway going 70. Felt like it slipped into nutrual, and it would only drive in 4L. I crawled off the next exit and got towed home. Up untell then it worked fine, my truck had a 351W in it from the factory, it handled that with no problem.

You trashed a range fork. Most likely happened due to the shifting of the transfer during the motor/tranny swap. 208s are very sensitive to the shifter adjustment, if it off it will kill the range fork every time. I've been through a few (last one was due to the crossmember bending and throwing the likage out of whack). To help allevieate the prob, I removed the shifter gate in mine. I ran it for a long time, bought the truck in '95, and started really wheeling it a year later. I swapped it out this last summer for a 241, simply because I could for free. The range forks were the only real problem I had with it.

Although I am not a huge fan of this case it can't be too bad...I know of one case where a local truck puller ran one for years and years with a 600+hp big block and never did break it.......for what that is worth.
