I just want to know if the TH400 and TH350 are comparable in length. Or is the 400 closer to the length of a 700R4??

Thanks,

Steve

on a purely theoretical note, the 700r should be longer than the 350 just because it will have an OD tailhousing. i'm gonna go check AA and see if i have to eat my words <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

edit: okay, AA sez the 350 is 21.5", 700r is 23.375", 4l60e is 21.875", and 400 is 24.25".

It does not use a extra set of gears as with a standard. They are probably different lengths for othere reasons not the fact that it is a OD or not.

is that just for chevy trannys? i'm more familiar with mopar stuff (the 727 in my wag), and the 518 OD auto is a 727 with an OD tailshaft bolted on. that's cool tho; i didn't know that
