RCman 01-17-2011, 02:47 PM Mine's a little different as well, but I'll put it up anyway.
I didn't need a wheel well or whatnot as the hatch was welded in place the the remaining stock well was modified so the interior is sealed. The remaining sheet metal on the quarter was left purely for ascetics. Everything is welded except the bent portion which is held in place with stainless socket heads and finish washers through some trick tabs. Simple and effective.

I made them. Not hard actually. I like them as well too bad I had to take them off. They are sitting forlorn on my workbench.:(
calvin4186 01-26-2011, 11:42 AM Want to get rid of them?

Thanks! I gained 3 to 4 inches ground clearance, narrowed by 6 inches and lost about 10 pounds.

GreatWhiteXJ 04-30-2011, 04:40 AM Im going to use this same exact picture in a few threads....
Anyways, tho it was 2 years ago doing the initial cut, I remember it vividly. I had already trimmed my fenders before this build and I decided that they where as high as I would like them. So I taped a straight line back from my highest previous cut....and followed it. FWIW the section is EXACTLY 6" from the body line to cut. At the bottom of the cut I attaced a 1x1 piece of angle and also covered the fenders with a 6" wide strap of 20g. Then I took out the inner fender portion that wasnt wanted and the rest of the crap in my way and proceeded to fill it all back in. Cut a rear tail light piece from 1/8 tread plate, and whalla...
The final result was this....
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/JeepinGuy10/013-1.jpg
Onlt thing I regret is how anal I was about apperance on the back bottom portion of the inner fender. As you can see I fully welded and ground that smooth to the frame rail. Thats prolly going to be a mistake as the forces between the frame and the shock mount will probably crack that. We will see.... The material for the shock mount is 1/8"...the rest 14g.
Hears an ok shot if the top back view....
