choose your obsticles early!!!! click on the link to the right of where. look for a big gray blob, then go to the left where an old bentonite mine use to be. its down all over the mine, and if you go down a little its in the trees too.

deanschool 01-18-2011, 08:56 AM Interested. Sounds like a good time. Do you have an idea of roughly how many rigs you expect?
it varies. this year, im kinda in control of advertisement and we expect this to be the best year yet. last year had a poor turnout of like 25 rig in all classes but the year before we had a parking lot full of about 50+ rigs of all classes!
deanschool 01-18-2011, 09:02 AM these are only a few things this park offers...

ssyork 01-18-2011, 11:31 AM I've been watching the thread about this the last 2 years and couldn't make it down on the dates. Looks like I can finally make it this year though. I think the PIG format sounds like a blast. The pics always look like everybody is having a great time. Can we camp on the grounds for free? what is the rules for helmets and seat belts? Can't wait.

Camping if im correct, IS NOT PERMITTED. Ill check the sign soon and see what is said. If its not posted, I say its fine. But otherwise at the moment, its NOT permitted. If you can camp there, im assuming its free to do so. I know they close the park at about 10PM and if you trespass in the park and are playing around, you can get a talkin by the local law enforcement. Some of the pictures were from last years comp and some from just wheelin. (Poor turnout do to date change and poor advertisement on last years competition) Prior years had amazing turnouts!!! As for helmets, they are not required unless you choose to personally. Seatbelts must be worn! Any belt from factory to racing belts must be worn. Atleast one across the lap and over the shoulder.
ssyork 01-19-2011, 12:54 PM Thanks. Keep us posted on the camping please.
THEDOORMAN 01-19-2011, 01:21 PM Guys with capable rigs get bored fast in the park! If you are going to travel for this then please do some searching about poision spider park. The pics shown is about the best of it. I know it sucks to haul a long ways to be disappointed. The guy that started this post is a kid with a stock jeep, so everything is way cool to him and his buddies, just thought you all should know! :flipoff2:

hey , get your chit straight before you post. yes im 15 almost 16 too, ill give you that. no, the park has way more to offer and alot better things. not like i ever see you out there... and finally, no my jeep is not stock... havent updated a post on here to clarify that. i have a 4" lift, 33" bfg t/a kos, gone through 3 sets of wheels, limited slip rear, teraflex discos front, bestop trektop, flowmaster super 44, cut off cat, making custom beadlocks from scratch, building a cage, building hyline tube fenders from scratch, working on building a long arm 4-link front and rear from nothing but the damn dimensions i have, working on selling my motor/tranny (4.0 I6/32rh) for a chevy 350 before this comp, and an axle swap to go with that 350, the school friends i have dont wheel, instead i choose to pay my club dues and hangout with people that are friendly, have built rigs, and dont just bash on kids- (yes me) who actually are starting from nothing and attempting to build a badass jeep. you might own your own company which allow you to have more funds than some but atleast im still off my ass, going to school and working so i dont just feed off my parents like some. (not saying you are)
shall i mention the fact that i placed first last year in my class for this very competition? i attempted to do the waterfall at the park, and i made it. can i also add that im the only one to make it up the waterfall in my class? im 15, and i think my driver skill says otherwise. they used the PIG format last year and any picture you see of my jeep at the comp, i had no letters. i left unbeaten. i was put up against people i didnt know and rigs i never saw, and i overcame them to win what i deserved. i drove my jeep to the park at a speed of 25mph because i had death wobble. i havent seen you in ONE competition with your oh "so badass" zuk. scared of breaking those twig axles on those tires? before you trash talk, get your facts straight. look at post #17 and #18 for my dark green tj. is it less modified than your zuk? yes. am i younger than you with less driving experience? yes. am i striving to get to the top of the offroad community? yes. prolly wont ever reach that, but aim high and maybe that bullet will hit that target from miles away... :flipoff:
i think i should get some kudos too for being only 15 and working on my own chit!
deanschool 01-19-2011, 06:21 PM Thanks. Keep us posted on the camping please.
i asked the club prez, and site administrator and they both said its not possible. we cant even get rights for the night to go camping. but we have rights of the park for the day. sorry bro!
KJ Ryu 01-19-2011, 11:06 PM we have rights of the park for the day.
Better check on that, bro. From what I've heard, BLM wants a lot of $$$ to hold ANY event (more than 5 people in a group) out there. Pretty sure your club can't foot that bill. Ours isn't even willing to do it.

Oh my god! Did you empty a box of tissue with this post!!:flipoff2: I just brought up some big points about the park and what is really has to offer. You have guys from south dakota and montana looking at this where they have real trails to play on, Not an old bentonite mine with some shale. You need to give an honest description of the location. Not one seen though the eyes of a 15 year old with a stock Jeep. Thanks for your list of mods though and kudos for all you work. But the point is that the day you load a buggy up and trailer 200+ miles only to find that you were sold a bill of goods, and it is a waste of then you will understand all of this. Give people an Honest eye of the whole place and let them decide!
Oh yeah! I have been out there playing since you were in grade school and it was way fun when the sami was on 33's and small now once a year is almost to much! And if you could shoot us a map of this "Frame Twister" we would all love to see it. Where the commando fell over is a dirt hill!
Good Wheeling to all!
deanschool 01-20-2011, 09:22 AM maybe if you actually looked at the pictures, you can see multiple areas where jason struggled, or tony, tim, larry, everybody! the last picture of the rubicon, is buggy trench. the rubi came in from a different entrance to attempt the trench. :flipoff2:
yes the commando flipped on a hill. never said it was in a bad roll or anything.
THEDOORMAN 01-20-2011, 10:13 AM Still missing big picture!

Good, its important to keep it more about the fun and less drama. I put on a few events a year and imo its about getting guys out and having a good time way before whose rig is better/fast/bigger/etc. One thing we have going for us is we own the land so we can do what we want, when we want so that opens up a lot of options. Keep the BLM happy foremost since they are kind enough to let you play there and make it fun for the people so they will come. The format seems like a good deal for some relaxed competition.
Pinecreek 01-20-2011, 01:41 PM I completely agree!! I'm in ..... Sounds like fun and that is what we are about, havin' fun!!! See you there!!!!

Trailer Queens
MNorby 05-18-2011, 09:12 PM So what difference from pro and trailer queen?
98_TJ_Sport 05-19-2011, 08:08 PM Not much of a difference really we are going to use a points system to break them up into 2 classes, it will depend on how many rigs we get that are that highly modded.
