Worked out well so you don't have to do the window cutting thing.
Got to call the fiberglass man.

So you much did you cut out of the body?? Looks like about 13.5" ??

Does the tail gate still open with this much choped off?? or does it hit the chassi??

Are the rear spring hangers in the stock location??

Do you have a body lift?? How much?

I am going to do the same think to mine and want to take out 13.5" but am unsure if I can get tail gate to still open or will it hit the chassi.

Thanks
Chris

That looks sweet man.:smokin: I gotta ask though, Where do you wheel in Ohio? I'm from Central Ohio and still go back there to visit family, I've ran everthing I've seen in my uncle's stock Ramcharger on 33 Trail T/As. I'm not trying to dog on you at all I'm just curious if there's anything worth visiting next time I go back.

There is no place that I know of in Ohio to 4 wheel.
We go to Ky, Tenn, and N Carolina.

the runner was cut 13.5 inches so the one glass could be removed.
It's got a 3" body lift, and the springs are in the stock hangers at the rear. Had to notch the frame for the gate. Pic's coming soon.

this pic we bolted the outside of top with strips of steel before taking top off, kinda hard to see strips.

Why doesn't anyone keep the sliding windows and lose the big wrap over glass in the rear?

BTW, nice bob....;)

I think because it is harder to do. You would have to cut the glass, which I do not think you can. Or get a new glass window made.

Plus I think it looks better this way then cutting the glass!!

Thats the way I would like to do it...but that's tempered glass with a curve in it. I don't know of anybody who can cut tempered glass. You have to get something like Lexan or other plastic...speedglas or something so it costs more. Guess the other alternative would be to just glass over the back opening too, but that would be hard for most DIY's to get looking good.

someone wanted to see how the rear part of the frame turned out,
had to notch the frame so the gate would open;

it's weak as hell at the shackle , so I cut a piece of steel.

The thing is pretty much done, exept for the bumper.
(Hope he can get it on before he finds a tree to back in to)

Job was fairly easy with the proper equipment.

appreciate the reply's good and bad.

If I can get a pic of the whole thing out in the woods I will post for you.

HAPPY TRAILS;

Do you have any updated pictures? I'd like to see what you did for a bumper and how it turned out after paint if you eventually painted it.

Thanks for the shots TNTtoy. I like the hoops for protecting the taillights. I haven't seen too many bumper/exo designs that offer good tailight protection. Looks good!

I bobbed my runner 11" because I wanted to use the original tail gate and wanted it to look as original as possible.

Here is a pic right after I painted it
